Rachel gordon loube
Rachel Gordon Loube is a filmmaker, editor and adjunct film professor based in New York City. In her work as an editor she's collaborated with companies such as Doctors Without Borders on their "Starved for Attention Campaign" video, Zipcar on their transgender equality campaign video, and Bend the Arc on their workers' rights campaign video. She's also contributed to post-production on feature documentary films such as "Captivated: The Trials of Pamela Smart" (Sundance, HBO distribution), by Jeremiah Zagar; "Sabbath Queen" (Tribeca Festival), by Sandi DuBowski; and "Do I Sound Gay” (Toronto International Film Festival, Amazon Prime streaming), by David Thorpe.
As an adjunct professor, Rachel teaches a graduate level filmmaking course at the School of Visual Arts (SVA). In Spring 2024, she was awarded the SVA MFA Social Documentary Film Alumni Editing Fellowship to work on the post-production of her feature documentary film, "Descendants of Devenishuk", a story of loss, love, and homeland.
An active member of the documentary film community, Rachel is a co-leader of Docshop, the documentary film focused chapter of Filmshop - a nonprofit collective of independent filmmakers committed to developing new work through peer support and collaboration. Docshop meets weekly to workshop documentary film projects, offer constructive critique, and incubate new ideas.
Rachel has an MFA in Social Documentary Film from SVA. Her MFA thesis film, “Every Tuesday: A Portrait of the New Yorker Cartoonists”, premiered at the Tribeca Festival in 2012 and won a Student Academy Award® in 2013.
